OOSH Educators

St Nicholas OOSH centres are supported by the Early Education and OOSH teams at the Catholic Diocese of Maitland- Newcastle. St Nicholas is going through an exciting period of growth and as such we are expanding our education and care services and are now operating high quality OOSH services. 

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of one of our brand new before and after school care programs and vacation care programs for children aged 5 – 12 years.  We have both current and upcoming vacancies in the following areas:

  • Maitland
  • Newcastle
  • Lake Macquarie
  • Port Stephens

* Some of these positions will commence in January 2019.

As an OOSH Educator, you will be responsible for supervising children’s play ensuring their physical safety at all times as well as promoting and guiding positive behaviour.  You will assist in developing and implementing programs which offer a diverse range of experiences that promote children’s independence, social skills, learning and development.

You will bring a mature, positive and reliable approach to your work, be able to collaborate as an active member the team and must be able to communicate effectively with the children, parents and staff.

Trainee Early Childhood Educator

Trainee Early Childhood Educator

Due to continued growth within our St Nicholas Early Education centres, an exciting opportunity has emerged for two dedicated individuals who would like to embark on a career within Early Childhood Education. Commencing in January 2019, the successful candidate/s will complete a Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care Work based Traineeship at our Singleton Early Education Centre.  An opportunity to obtain permanent employment may be available upon successful completion of the traineeship.

Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) / Educational Leader - Newcastle West

Employment Type: Full Time

St Nicholas Early Education at Newcastle West currently has a vacancy for a permanent full time Early Childhood Teacher. This role will also have a temporary Educational Leader responsibility to support Parental leave relief. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position with a highly regarded brand, and whilst also showcasing your educational leader skills on a temporary basis.

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you are expected to be an active team member of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. Whilst caretaking the Educational Leader aspect, you will be expected to lead the development and implementation of the Educational curriculum at St Nicholas.
