Lochinvar - Early Childhood Educators (Cert III)

St Nicholas Early Education is growing! With three new centres opening in 2018, it is an exciting time to join us.

Due to further rooms becoming available, St Nicholas is now advertising for Childhood Educator’s (Certificate III) for our brand new Lochinvar centres.

Lochinvar centre will be an architecturally designed, purpose built 124 place centre and consists of a fun outdoor area, including water pumps, bridges, cubby houses, bike tracks and mud pits.

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be expected to be an active member of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children, whilst partnering with parents.

You will be an active member of the team, with a passion for providing high quality care and education to children. You will have the ability to develop relationships with children and families, assist in the implementation of policy and process of St Nicholas, and work with other staff to continuously improve the operations of St Nicholas.  St Nicholas Early Education adopts a best practice ethos in care and education, to ensure it has a positive reputation in the community of Newcastle.

Singleton - Early Childhood Teachers

St Nicholas Early Education is continually growing and has three brand new centres opening in 2018. Our other centres are also continuing to grow, and as a result we have the following vacancies:

1. A Full-Time ongoing Early Childhood Teacher in our Singleton Centre. 

2. A temporary Full-Time Early Childhood Teacher (Parental Relief) in our Singleton Centre. This position would end in December 2018.

Our Early Childhood Teachers in St Nicholas are responsible for the development and evolution of curriculum, based on the philosophy of the Early Years Learning framework.  In consultation with the Educational Leader you will be responsible for embedding the curriculum.  You will be an active member of the team, with a passion for providing high quality care and education to children.  You will have the ability to develop relationships with children and families, assist in the implementation of policy and process of St Nicholas, and work with other staff to continuously improve the operations of St Nicholas.  St Nicholas Early Education adopts a best practise ethos in care and education, to ensure it has a positive reputation in the community of Newcastle.

Food Preparation Assistant

St Nicholas Early Education at Newcastle West currently has a vacancy for a part time permanent Food Preparation Assistant.

As a Food Preparation Assistant at St Nicholas Early Education, your responsibility will be to plan and provide a balanced nutritional morning and afternoon tea at St Nicholas.

This position’s responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a clean and healthy work environment;
  • Plan a weekly menu for St Nicholas;
  • Display menus on weekly basis;
  • Order food and control stock management;
  • Preparation of morning tea and afternoon tea for all the children at St Nicholas;
  • Ensure complete familiarity with special dietary needs of the children, and keep a up to date list in the food preparation area;
  • Comply with a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene practices at all time;
  • Supervision of children when required;
  • Assistance with washing and cleaning equipment and resources;
  • Attend conscientiously to health and safety of each child;
  • Adherence to and demonstration of effective knowledge of all WHS requirements and centre’s specific WHS practices.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED include:
 - A minimum of Certificate III in Children’s Services as identified by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority.


In addition, a recognised course that includes the following:
• Safe food handling;
• Nutrition and menu planning.
