About St Nicholas Early Education, Singleton

St Nicholas Singleton is an 80 place Early Education Centre, located on Boundary Street, Singleton, opening from 6:30am – 6pm Monday – Friday. We have been providing quality early education and care for our local community since 2005.

St Nicholas Singleton has 5 rooms catering for children eight weeks to five years and offers a program that supports the belief that young children are naturally inquisitive and learn best when they are given the opportunity to actively explore the environment.

St Nicholas Early Education Centre provides a high quality Early Education service using best practice guidelines. Our goal is to facilitate each child’s optimal social, intellectual and physical development and education, in partnership with parents and carers.

At St Nicholas Singleton we have a large spacious outdoor area that includes a variety of natural as well as man made play spaces that promote exploration, creativity, collaborative play, quiet time and care for the environment. The outdoor environment is divided into two play areas with a separate play area for babies and toddlers. Both areas include opportunity for running, climbing, riding, crawling, digging and exploring.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Philosophy, St Nicholas Singleton has developed an Atelier into our outdoor environment. An Atelier is “a place where children can experiment and create with many different types of materials” in an outdoor covered area.

The outdoor environment also includes sustainability features of a water tank and worm farms that are regularly looked after by the children.  There are a number of gardens for children to nurture and grow a variety of plants inclusive of vegetables, succulents, natives and herbs.

Preschoolers at St Nicholas, Singleton also benefit from a dedicated preschool room and a transition to school program, with a strong emphasis placed on programs which challenge and extend their abilities and confidence, aiding their transition to school.
